When talking with my housemates and showing some of my work, my graphic designer graduate housemate commented that I had used 5 different fonts throughout my work. Something I didn't even think about before, she explained how it can look unprofessional and not cohesive and suggested for me to make my own font.
Something I had never done before and had no idea how to even do! I used Calligraphr online to support making the font. I decided to copy the font that was embroidered on the back of my jacket, as I couldn't change that.
I was then able to use this font on Adobe suite, Microsoft apps and throughout my website. I think this helped elevate my project to a higher level. Showing that all areas have been considered, even if I needed a little nudge.
This is something I will continue doing, adding a personal touch to the work as it is my own handwriting and it won't be used anywhere else! I intend to make a new font for each new collection I make, making it my thing.
